Visual art has been Harry Villalonga's passion ever since he could hold a pencil, draw and color. Born and raised in Cebu City, Philippines, he earned a degree in Fine Arts major in painting at the University of the Philippines. After graduating in 1993, he took employment as a visual merchandizer and graphic artist at a couple of established retail companies and hotels for a few years before moving on to become a full-time painter. He became actively involved in different art organizations and participated in art exhibits in prestigous hotels, galleries and malls. He served as president of the BINHI ("seed") Art Group for three consecutive years. His art works are collected by art patrons, interior designers and entrepreneurs. In 2006, he migrated to the USA with his family and continued to pursue his art while living in Michigan. He has since won multiple awards while participating in juried art shows both locally, statewide and on-line and maintains active memberships in various established art organizations. He enjoys painting landscapes, seascapes, wildlife, human interest and abstract/modern art and renders his works in oil, watercolor, acrylic and mixed media. Lately his passion is to portray the stunning vistas of the great lakes and iconic Michigan lighthouses.
